Q. What is Urban(e) Foodie?

A. The Urban(e) Foodie is a FREE, members-only organization that offers a wide range of “gourmet” events monthly throughout the Dallas – Fort Worth metroplex. Our mission is to “Taste the World Around Us” with local gatherings at one of a kind restaurants, learn about wine, tea and coffee at our tastings, discover fresh and exotic ingredients at our ethnic grocery and farmer’s market tours and to learn innovative techniques at our educational and entertaining cooking classes.  We are supporters and patrons of artisans who have a passion for all things food. 

We seek to experience the wide variety of outstanding culinary experiences available to us, and are open to trying new things and meeting new people. Our venue is a great way to make new friends, network and share exceptional culinary experiences. 

You will get the royal treatment from Executive Director Evelyn Williams (www.ChefEvelyn.com) who personally plans each exquisite culinary event to give members something special.

 As a member, you will be kept up to date on the latest local Culinary Events, and you will also receive a monthly newsletter with exclusive interviews with local chefs, cooking and entertaining tips, as well as our favorite “Foodie Find” of the month.

In the spirit of friendship and in the pursuit of culinary enjoyment, we invite you to become a member and join us at our events. Did we mention that membership is FREE? 

Q. Why do people join?

A. People join the Urban(e) Foodie as a way to try new restaurants they likely wouldn’t have tried before. Our events are ideal social settings for making new friends and networking while sharing laughter, joy and great conversation.

Whether you are new to the area and want to meet new friends and experience local restaurants, or you’d like an alternative to your busy work life, our events are the ideal social solution for you.
 The Urban(e) Foodie was designed to help you branch out of your neighborhood and explore the world around you through food.

Reservations

Every month we send our members a newsletter describing the events that have been planned for the month to come. The newsletter describes each event giving you a sense of what makes it special. All pertinent information is listed including the full price (which includes tax & gratuity).

As a member, you decide which events you want to attend and let us know by reserving you spot on line. Your meals and drinks are paid on a per person basis. The cost of a dinner is always listed in our newsletter and always includes the full meal, taxes, and gratuities. Pre-payment to the Urban(e) Foodie, via eventbrite or paypal, is required. Alcohol may be purchased on your own personal tab. 

Q. How much does it cost to join the Urban(e) Foodie?

A. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations are accepted up to seven days before an event. Cancellations made less than seven days before an event are non-refundable. If you reserve for an event and cannot attend, please call AND email to cancel. Restaurants’ cancellation and confirmed count policy overrides the above; any differences or special circumstances will be noted in the newsletter.  

Professional and Moral Standards

All members must at all times act in a courteous manner.  The Urban(e) Foodie will not tolerate any behavior that is not in good taste.  Any member (at the discretion of the Executive Director or representative of the Urban(e) Foodie) will be asked to leave an event if it is determined that the member in question is not acting in a courteous manor.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL A MEMBERSHIP AT ANY TIME DUE TO INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR.

Capacity & Waiting List

Since most restaurants and establishments have a limited seating capacity, we will accept reservations until the capacity that has been granted to us is reached. To be fair to all members, our policy is always “first come, first served.” We suggest that you confirm your reservation as soon as you have determined which events you wish to attend. 

Liability release and waiver:

By joining the Urban(e) Foodie you agree to the following:

WE, the participant, member and guest, on behalf of ourselves, members of our family, or heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, hereby forever release, discharge and hold harmless, Urban(e) Foodie, representatives and agents for any injury, loss, or damage to my person or property howsoever caused, arising out of or in connection with my taking part in events, classes and activities and notwithstanding that the same may have been contributed to or occasioned by the negligence of Urban(e) Foodie representatives, or agents.
